Hi people, so we just concluded the mini choice-love series and today was everything I’d say put together. It was really something, had to wash my make-up brushes, they were way over due for that [to all the ladies in the house whose make-up brushes are way over due please do justice to them]. Then I had to do some clean up and went to the movies afterwards. It was a good day basically. I hope y’all had a splendid day. Today’s post [I have no words to describe it]. That moment when you have this particular friend that always talks about fame and these three words start confusing you then you decide to do something about it.
So these words are hardly differentiated by people. You hear People say “I want to be popular, or I want to be famous or I want to be influential“. Its funny how some people do not even know the meaning of what they say not in the wrong sense but they even misinterpret themselves by themselves, so let’s make some analysis.
What does it mean to be popular? Looking at it from the dictionary angle, to be popular relates mostly to the likeness of the public, generally pleasing, general accepted and lots more. To be famous, means to be well known. To my understanding one could be famous for the positive and for the negative. To be influential, is the broadest of all. It has so many definitions “the power to affect, control or manipulate something or someone; the ability to change the development of fluctuating things such as conduct, thoughts or decisions”.
To my understanding, you can be popular, have the general public like you but you’ll lack influence. You can be famous and still lack influence but you cannot be influential and lack fame and popularity. The package of being influential, comes with popularity and fame and other additionals, not just any influence but positively influential. The society is not looking for negative influential people but positive influential people that when being put in the corridors of power will do right and the people will obey.
To be famous and popular doesn’t come with in-depth responsibility, but to be influential, the society places responsibilities on you, such as: integrity ,value, attitude, character, approach, behavior, personal development. The list is long after-all you exert this influence still on the society, hence they have the right to impose such responsibilities on you indirectly.
Well, I don’t know about you but I want to be somebody of influence, an influential person. Not just popular or famous. Now we know the difference between these three to an extent, it is left for us to make our choice. I’ve made mine what’s yours?.
