SUBMISSION FROM A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE 2

Hi guys,

So on Wednesday, I talked about submission but I had conversations with some of my friends and I felt I should eventually wrap this up today.

A very good friend of mine said people have issues with the word “submit” because our society has made it look like slavery and suffering and we also talked on how the phrase “submitting your will” is really strong (Eph 5:24).

Talking to another friend of mine, I was trying to explain this and here’s what I think…

Christ’s love for the church was NOT authoritarian. If for anything, it was a love that showed servitude in leadership. It was sacrificial that he eventually laid down his life. He went the extra mile… I’ll pause here and jump to what the Bible says about love…

1st Corinthians 13:

4Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

So the mans submission is supposed to be as Christ loved the church. We have looked at that and what the Bible says on love. Then again…

Mark 10:

7‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, b 8and the two will become one flesh.’ c So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

Three scriptures present, talking about love and marriage. So if a man is continuously making an attempt to show this kind of love with this scriptural knowledge, in this light and most likely a deeper personal revelation from the Holy Spirit…I tell him about my career and his love is not jelous, his love does not demand his way so his love understands . I have submitted my will by saying “hey this is this, what’s your opinion”… I know it’s a partnership and I consider you important because I can’t act on my own…

I really wish I could break this down further but I pray you gain light on this.

Dear men, Christian men, I pray you search the scriptures for yourself and start acting accordingly.

Dear women, Christian women, stop loving sacrificially and submitting. Stop playing the mans part for him.

May we all study the word to show ourselves approved in our actions, allowing our human logic take a seat behind whilst praying the Holy Spirit enlighten our eyes of understanding.
