THE COCKROACH ANALOGY

Disclaimer: This is not a biological post please. I’m not into sciences or animal studies so let your mind be at ease.

Now we’re on the same page, HAPPY NEW MONTH AND I WELCOME YOU INTO THE 2nd HALF OF THE YEAR.

On a side note, I really don’t know why they made us draw and label cockroaches in biology. What are we supposed to use the knowledge of their body parts for? Oh well…

So the rains have been coming in Abuja, Nigeria where I currently reside and my house needs some repairs. Point is, I get to kill cockroaches like there is some bounty on them. Hence overtime, my ears have become extra sharp to detect their movement because I’ve gotten familiar with it.

One day I was texting and I paused cause I thought I heard some movement and the Holy Spirit told me “Are you this expectant to hear from God? When he eventually speaks, can you differentiate his voice from other voices? Have you sharpened your spiritual ears enough so you don’t think he’s saying something he’s not?”

I just grew cold, I won’t even lie to you.

It’s the second half of the year, to some a new beginning, to others a continuation of their journey. Expectations and planning are inevitable. So yeah, I’m asking you those same questions; Are you listening hard enough to hear God’s direction going forward? Are you sure you can differentiate his voice from your own voice? Is his voice familiar to you?

Simple and short but I hope you reflect on it and it causes some sort of depth in your soul. Once again, Happy New Month.
