THE BURNING BUSH

So let’s talk the burning bush guys.

Exodus 3

2There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up. 3“This is amazing,” Moses said to himself. “Why isn’t that bush burning up? I must go see it.”

Hmm, I was doing something a week ago and stirring at a lit candle. When this verse of the Bible dropped in my heart. The Bible never told us how close or far Moses was but I think we all will agree that if we’re extremely far and we see fire, automatically, we assume destruction.

So out of curiousity, I tried something I had never done in my life spiritually. I always hear about it but questioned the practicality. The Holy Spirit made me understand that this is how the believers life is.

I’ll use fasting as an example. From afar, people think you’re fasting and see that you’re losing weight. They see the weight loss, they do not see the spiritual gain. They wonder “aren’t you hungry”, subconsciously, they even pity for you, sometimes they think you’re starving but they can’t see the capacity you’re building in your spirit, subjecting your flesh to the spirit.

So I dare say what happened to the burning bush was the same thing that Happened to Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego; Because they submitted to God and honored his word, he came through. “though you pass through the fire, you will not be burnt” so the fire re-enforcers sent by Nebuchadnezzar were consumed but the spirit of God filtered the heat to glorify the word and honour the father.

Dear Christian, your perception on spiritual things should be based on the spirit not on the flesh because the flesh will always be subject to the spirit. Challenge yourself, gain mastery, submit, yield and most importantly, ask for help from above. It is doable! stop looking at it with your strength because not by power, not by might but by the spirit.

There are so many dimensions of power in the spirit, available for the believer but if you’re not on fire, you’ll never access them. It is your fire that draws the attention from the world to want to know what is happening. They will only be able to see the results at first then when they draw closer, they’ll know it’s backed by the Lord just as Moses never understood till he came closer.

You just continue to stay, continue to build capacity… You’re getting there!
