LOVE IS ENOUGH: GOD’S PERSPECTIVE

2020, I was having a conversation with a friend about love. I was typing love is NOT enough when I just switched from nowhere and said love is enough.

How will only one word have 4 Greek meanings.
God himself like this is Love
The same love covers a multitude of sin
And etc
And you’ll tell me “love is NOT enough”??

Let’s talk about Love for God then merge it .

A friend of mine asked me: “Lois, can our love for God truly be enough?” And here’s what I had to say below👇🏽

No! Reason being that;

Let’s take the ocean for example. It is a “natural” body of water and no matter how many buckets I carry to replicate the ocean, I can never have a self created ocean. No matter how much I even partner with science, I have to be getting the water from somewhere. Overtime, mine will be stagnant, turn dirty and will most likely not contain creatures that live in it.

God is love, God is the yardstick of love. We, can never love God enough because he’s the embodiment of love. We can only try. What he wants is the growth in love, not perfection. He determines what “enough” is in our love for him and he does that just well because he keeps stretching our faith, giving us trials, to see just how far we can truly go for him and the kingdom of his dear son within the boundaries of grace.

Let’s also not forget the widows mite. So “enough” is relative. The widow’s mite, that was all she had but Jesus said she gave the most and saw that it was her “enough” at that point .
So our duty is to love and let God determines the “enough”.

1st Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 13; Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

That something seems logical and accepted does not mean you can’t have light enough to invalidate the meaning in your life.
Stop using someone else’s experience as your acceptable truth. I say this because somebody somewhere started this propaganda that has spread abroad today and because people didn’t understand love, they bought into it.

It’s funny how we say we have love to give to someone we’ve never seen physically through our worship and praise, setting out time for him and trying to live like him then we come to humans that we see physically and literally say “we can’t love you enough. How then do we personally evaluate the extent we can prove our love to God?

1 John 4:8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
God is love and as for me, if God is enough, love is enough.
